Moving inference into the cloud while only mapping explicit session data is the right call, but it creates a support headache practitioners need to think through. You get safety and capability wins—Anthropic controls the execution environment, you don't ship raw models to users—but now you're asking people to trust their tool calls happen somewhere they can't see, and debugging breaks in ways that feel foreign to local-first developers. The tradeoff is real: better guardrails for everyone, worse visibility for the person building. If you're shipping agent tools to non-technical users, this model scales. If you're shipping to developers who expect to introspect their own systems, you've just added friction to adoption.
