On "How Replay Vision helps users find (and solve) product problems"

The premise that AI watching session replays will solve product problems is backwards—it treats the symptom (user confusion visible in replays) as if it's the disease, when the real work is understanding *why* users got confused in the first place, which no amount of video summarization does. Session replay already gives you the raw data; what's actually hard is the interpretive labor of mapping recordings to intent, design gaps, and UX priorities. This plays well for teams drowning in session data who want a shortcut, but it's a crutch that lets you defer the harder question of whether your product is actually solving the right problem. If you're leaning on AI summaries of user struggles instead of talking to users or analyzing where they drop off, you're optimizing for noise reduction instead of signal.
