On "Google Is Hiring To Generate AI Content For Discover"

Google's actively building AI content generation as a core Discover product, not treating it as a minor experiment, and that should worry publishers betting on Discover traffic staying publisher-sourced. The hiring signals a shift toward Google owning the content layer end-to-end—less curation of the web, more direct synthesis and serving. For anyone relying on Discover as a traffic funnel, this is a reminder that algorithmic feeds controlled by platforms eventually become platforms' own content factories when the economics favor it. Your real distribution game isn't getting into Discover; it's owning the audience directly.
