On "Google Fixed Favicon Bug & Crawl Stats Missing Data"

These are table-stakes fixes, not features, so the real question is why it took Google this long to notice and why we're still waiting on actual transparency about what broke them in the first place. Favicons disappearing from SERPs and crawl data vanishing from GSC are the kind of bugs that should trigger immediate communication, not a weekend fix followed by silence. If you've been flying blind on crawl diagnostics or wondering why your brand favicon never showed, you can stop troubleshooting your own implementation now, but don't expect Google to tell you what actually went wrong or how long it was borked.

From the source: Google has fixed two bugs this weekend related to Google Search. The first is the bug with many favicons not showing up in the Google Search result snippets. The second is the bug with two days of data missing from the Google Search Console crawl stats report.
