On "Celebrating International Translation Day: Meet 3 linguistic experts behind Google Translate"

Google's move to humanize its translation product on a feel-good observance reads like a smart preempt against the growing sense that machine translation is soulless—but it dodges the real problem practitioners actually care about, which is whether those linguistic experts are actually fixing the cultural gaps that still break translation in high-stakes content. The post matters less as a PR move and more as a signal that Google knows the experience hasn't caught up to the hype, and is quietly investing in the messier, non-scalable work of handling nuance. If you're betting your SEO on translated content, the presence of humans in the loop is the only news here worth tracking.
