On ".Org Sites Are 34% Likelier To Generate Ecommerce Revenue Than .Com"

This is a correlation-causation trap dressed up as actionable data. A .org site isn't generating more revenue because of the extension—it's probably that nonprofits and mission-driven commerce (like certified B-corps or cause-aligned brands) naturally gravitate to .org and also build stronger customer loyalty for reasons entirely unrelated to the domain. The real question is whether a for-profit ecommerce business should actually switch from .com to .org, and the answer is almost certainly no—you'd be paying for a domain change, rewriting canonicals, chasing redirect chains, and neutering your brand authority for a correlation that disappears the moment you control for business model. Don't let a headline dressed up in percentages tempt you into infrastructure debt.
