This is supply-side thinking dressed up as developer empathy. Yes, the warehouse setup is bloated, but the real problem isn't which tool you pick—it's that modern analytics still requires a specialist to translate business questions into SQL, dbt, dashboards, and permissions. Swapping Snowflake for BigQuery doesn't solve that. What developers actually need is a warehouse that lets them query product data without the pipeline theater, not another comparison of managed warehouses that all impose the same operational burden. Until someone builds something that genuinely democratizes access instead of just adding another layer, this is just reshuffling friction.
