On "What is llms.txt & should you use it?"

The llms.txt file is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist yet. LLMs can already crawl your site, read your robots.txt, and respect your stated preferences—what they're actually doing with that information is a separate governance question that a text file won't solve. If you're thinking about adding it, ask yourself first: are you trying to help LLMs understand your site better, or are you trying to control how they use it? Because those are different problems, and llms.txt only addresses one of them poorly.
